Fran Hoefgen admitted that he sexually abused a teenager in Cold Spring, Minnesota in the early 1980's. The victim said that Hoefgen engaged him in oral sex on at least two occasions. Hoefgen apologized to another victim in a letter in or around 2001. The second victim alleged that Hoefgen engaged him in both anal and oral sex.   View Related Posts for Rev. Francis Hoefgen, 52, accused of sexually abusing a troubled teenager in the early 1980s in Cold Spring, Minn., had his apology published in the Sunday Star Tribune. (September 27, 2002) Hoefgen was an associate pastor at St. Boniface church in Cold Spring near St. Cloud in 1984 when police learned about the allegations of sexual abuse, according to court records. He was sent to St. Luke Institute in Maryland for treatment for several months and in 1985 took a position at St. Boniface Church in Hastings, which later merged with St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Hoefgen left that post in 1992 when the victim filed a civil suit in Dakota County District Court. A judge dismissed the suit against Hoefgen and the church in 1993 because the statute of limitations had expired.
